Kinross Museum
are pleased to announce that they have been successful in their bid
to obtain funding for their Stories project which has been developed
as part of Scotland’s Year of Stories. This project concentrates
on three stories which are geographically rooted in Kinross-shire.
The first is the story of the dreadful persecution of witches in the
seventeenth century, focussing on the trials in the Crook of Devon.
The second story takes us to John Knox’s pulpit in Glenvale
and the tale of the Covenanters and their courageous fight to be allowed
to worship God the way they had done for centuries. The final story
is one of hope and healing centred around the well in Scotlandwell,
with pilgrims visiting from as early as Roman times.
On 16th November
storyteller, Dougie Mackay, entertained with stories relevant to the
exhibition.
